PostSubject: Tying up Loose Ends   Wed Oct 13, 2010 10:52 am

I wrote this play for my play writing class. the characters are an older man (SIR), a young man (CHAP), and a young boy (LAD), and a lady. Wanted to share it with you all.

Enjoy!

Nicki

The play is set on a cobblestone walk outside. Each of the characters enter from the opposite side of the stage so that they face SIR upon entering. Curtain opens, Sir walks on stage. A few people pass him and the CHAP enters.

SIR
Good morning chap.
CHAP
Good morning to you, Sir. Lovely weather isn’t it? Um..it seems as though your show is untied.
SIR
Pardon me?
CHAP
Your shoe is untied.
SIR
I’m sorry, chap but you must have me confused with someone else.
CHAP
Are you bloody kidding me? Confused with someone else? I think you’ve gone mad.
SIR
No, my boy. I believe you’ve gone mad. You really must have me confused with someone else.
CHAP
You’ve seriously gone mad, haven’t you Sir? You must be off your trolley!
(Chap walks off, a few more people pass Sir as he smooths his hair to the side, shivers and puts on a sweater. LAD enters.)

SIR
Why hello there young lad!
LAD
Ello kind Sir. Did you know that your laces came undone?
SIR
I’m sorry?
LAD
Your laces…they’ve come undone.
SIR
You’ll have to speak up boy.
LAD
Your laces are untied!
SIR
I didn’t quite catch that, sorry.
LAD
You old kook. Buzz off!

(Lad runs off. Sir hunches over grabs his cane and scoots across the stage; few more people pass him as one bumps into him. LADY enters.)

SIR
My lady?
LADY
Yes Sir? Good morning.
SIR
Good morning to you.
LADY
Can I help you get across? My goodness it seems your shoe is untied.
SIR
Mind getting it for me miss?

(Lady bends over and ties Sir’s shoe)

SIR
Thank you so much for that. You don’t know how long I’ve waited for it.
LADY
Excuse me, Sir?
SIR
My plan finally paid off; a tied shoe with the to oogle at that fine pair of knickers.
LADY
Oh! You filthy bugger!
(Slaps Sir.)
The nerve of a man like you trying to swoon a lady like myself with that vulgarity! I’m appalled!

(She storms off, leaving Sir on the stage. Sir smiles, taps his shoe with his cane, and whistles off the stage. Curtain falls.)

ha, yep that's the gist of it! I was hoping that people didn't think it was a little rushed...kinda had a page maximum and has too many ways it could of gone.

Thanks for reading...
